Abstract

Christoffersen, P. & Juhl, E. 1973. The Prognostic Significance of Mallory Bodies in Cirrhosis with Fatty Change. Scand. J. Gastroent. 8, 225-228.

Two groups of liver biopsies with cirrhosis, one with and one without Mallory bodies, are compared morphologically, and the corresponding groups of patients are compared biochemically, clinically, and with regard to survival. While both the morphological and biochemical activity is greater in the group with Mallory bodies, the investigation, however, shows that the survival is independent of the fact of whether Mallory bodies are present or not.
