Abstract

Halvorsen L., Dotevall, G. & Walan, A. 1973. Gastric Emptying in Patients with Achlorhydria or Hyposecretion of Hydrochloric Acid. Scand. J. Gastroent. 8. 395-399.

Gastric emptying has been investigated in patients with achlorhydria or hyposecretion compared to control subjects, using the modification of Hunfs method described by George. ‘Half-time’ as well as emptying time was significantly more rapid in patients with achlorhydria or hyposecretion (p < 0.02). These findings are in contrast with other reports using 51CrCl:i as nonabsorbable gastric indicator. The reason for this is discussed.
