Abstract

Recurrent endocarditis was diagnosed in a 73-y-old woman by echocardiography and positive blood cultures with beta-haemolytic streptococci group B. All 3 episodes were treated intravenously with a combination of antibiotics for at least 4 weeks, and after the second recurrence a 3-month course of rifampicin and clarithromycin was given per orally.
