Abstract

Visceral larva migrans syndrome (VLM) consists of fever, hepatosplenomegaly, pallor, respiratory symptoms and chronic eosinophilia. It is common among children and is usually caused by the larvae of Toxocara canis (I). We treated a child who had an initial clinical presentation of VLM complicated by the development of pyogenic liver abscess (PLA) and pericardial effusion.
