DAVID R. HERSHEY, a consulting editor for Science Activities, is a plant education consultant in Hyattsville, Maryland. He holds degrees in horticulture and has a doctorate in plant physiology. Dr. Hershey has written approximately three dozen plant science articles in science education journals, which include American Biology Teacher, Science Teacher, and Science Activities in addition to a book, Plant Biology Science Projects (1995, Wiley).
