JONATHAN HASKETT is currently a member of the Department of Geography at the University of Maryland, College Park. Trained as a soil biologist, he has worked in a number of areas including global climate change. ELISSA LEVINE is a soil scientist at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Maryland. Her primary research involves mathematical modeling of soil processes as they affect and are affected by other parts of the ecosystem. She is also the principal investigator for the Soil Investigation of the GLOBE program. PAULINE B. CAREY is the Math/Science Resource Teacher and Technology Coordinator for Prince Georges County Public Schools. She has taught for 26 years with Urban Learners in Prince Georges County, Maryland. She currently provides resources for staff and teaches math and science classes for the county. Ms. Carey feels passionately about the infusion of technology into existing curriculum and believes that children learn best when they make connections to their world. FRANK NIEPOLD III is an Educational Resources Developer for NASA Goddard's Landsat 7 Educational Outreach task force in Greenbelt, Maryland. In that position, he has created and field-tested middle and high school educational modules that use Landsat satellite data in the classroom. In addition, he trains teachers in how to use the data. He formerly taught sixth-grade earth science and seventh-grade life science classes in a hands-on engaging manner.
