Retraction

This article refers to:
H. S. Sullivan and His Contribution to the Relational School

We, Smith College, and the Editors of Smith College Studies in Social Work, at the request of the author, Dr. Joan Berzoff, have retracted and removed the following article:

Joan Berzoff “H. S. Sullivan and His Contribution to the Relational School” Smith College Studies in Social Work 85.1 (2015): 54–71 http://tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/00377317.2015.957600

A portion of the article derives from a book chapter authored by Dr. Edmund DeLaCour entitled: DeLaCour, E. P. (1996). Chapter 8: The Interpersonal School and Its Influence on Current Relational Theories in J. Berzoff et al., Inside Out and Outside In: Psychodynamic Clinical Theory and Practice in Contemporary Multicultural Context (pp. 199–219). Lanham, MD: Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, Inc. Although Dr. DeLaCour’s chapter is cited eight times throughout the article, we and the author believe that those citations do not sufficiently credit Dr. DeLaCour as the originator of several ideas and conclusions presented. Accordingly, we and Dr. Berzoff have concluded that retraction of the article is appropriate.
