Abstract

This paper presents the case of a 9‐year‐old African American male who received psychotherapy from an Anglo‐American social worker. She describes her effort to provide active cross‐cultural treatment. Her colleague, an African American social worker, offers her critique of this work. The authors discuss the challenges of communicating cross‐culturally about treatment and provide a “diary” of the process.
