Summary
Chateaubriand, the great French author, was apparently the first person who collected plants on the territory of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon. The scientific names of sixteen plants reported by Chateaubriand as a result of his stay at the island of Saint-Pierre in June. 1791, are given and commented.
