Revision of the plant bug genus Xenocylapus Bergroth (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Miridae: Cylapinae), with a description of Henryfulvius gracilis – a new cylapine genus and species from Ecuador

Summary

The genus Xenocylapus Bergroth, 1922 is revised. Nine new species, Xenocylapus aculeatus sp. nov., X. aquilonius sp. nov., X. bicolor sp. nov., X. globulus sp. nov., X. heissi sp. nov., X. panamaensis sp. nov., X. serrulatus sp. nov., X. tenuis sp. nov., and X. waorani sp. nov., are described from Brazil, Honduras, Mexico, and Panama. New genus and species Henryfulvius gracilis gen. nov., sp. nov. is described from Ecuador. Illustrations of the male genitalia, color photographs of dorsal and lateral views of the adult of most species, scanning electron micrographs of selected structures of X. tenuis, and keys to species of the genus Xenocylapus are provided.

Résumé

Révision des punaises du genre Xenocylapus (Bergroth (Heùiptera : Heteroptera : Miridae : Cylapinae) avec la description de Henryfulvius gracilis - nouveau genre et nouvelle espèce de l’Aquateur. Le genre Xenocylapus Bergroth, 1922, est révisé. Neuf nouvelles espèces, Xenocylapus aculeatus n. sp., X. aquilonius n. sp., X. bicolor n. sp., X. globulus n. sp., X. heissi n. sp., X. panamaensis n. sp., X. serrulatus n. sp., X. tenuis n. sp., et X. waorani n. sp., sont décrites du Brésl, du Honduras, du Mexique et du Panama. Henryfulvius n. gen. et la nouvelle espèce H. gracilis sp. nov. sont décrits d’Equateur. Les génitalias mâles sont illustrés, les vues dorsales et latérales des adultes de la plupart des espèces, les clichés au microscope électronique de différentes structures fines de X. tenuis, ainsi que la clé de détermination des espèces du genre, sont fournis.
