SYNOPSIS
The present paper is part 3 in the series of publications dealing with the regeneration of Pinus radiata in the Southern Cape Province. The objective of the study was to compare the organic carbon contents in the soils and the surface organic matter loads among the experimental treatments, before and after application, and one year after planting and to estimate the total organic matter content in different above-and below-ground strata. The paper discusses the methods being used and evaluates the results.
