Abstract
An estimate of the qualities of flat and cone bottom hollow cathode lamps for atomic absorption analysis was made comparing their calibration curves. The obtained results indicate that replacing the flat bottom cathode with a conical one, for the investigated (Fe, Ni, Al, Mo, Mg, Cu, Zn) elements, leads to a decrease of the optimum current strength while preserving even enhancing the concentration sensitivity at the same time.
