Abstract
The sensitivity of flame atomizers can be significantly improved. This was achieved using a thermospray injection system. The system eliminated solvent effects on the sensitivity. The atomizer was also attached to the end of an high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) column permitting direct injection of the effluent without loss of chromatographic resolution.
