Physicochemical Studies on Solid Products of Reactions of Chromyl Chloride and Chromyl Acetate with Alkylaromatics. Part II. Electronic Absorption Spectra

Abstract

The electronic absorption spectra of some chromium(IV) complexes as the products of chromyl chloride and chromyl acetate reaction with alkylaromatics have been studied in some organic solvents. A detailed computer analysis of the spectra including resolution into component bands as well as calculation of crystal field parameter Dq, Racah's parameter B and Franck-Condon analysis of the vibronically structured charge-transfer O—Cr band have been performed. The solvent effect on the Dq parameter has been established.
