Abstract

Intensities and decay rates of CO2-laser induced delayed fluorescence are used to probe collisional relaxation of vibrationally excited fluorenone diluted with bath gases: He, N2, Kr. The average energies 〈ΔE〉 transferred per collision are found to vary with vibrational energy, the energy dependences of the collisional efficiency eventually level off.
