Naturalistic Evaluation: Its Tenets and ApplicationFootnote

Pages 57-62 | Published online: 28 Dec 2015

Abstract

This paper considers naturalistic evaluation as a form of qualitative inquiry and discusses its relationship to other qualitative pursuits. A description of the naturalistic evaluation process is followed by a discussion of the philosophical and methodological bonds that exist between such fields as ethnography, educational criticism, and naturalistic evaluation. The value and potential for using naturalistic evaluation in art education is then explored.
