A Case Study of the Artist as Teacher through the Video Work of Martha Davis

Pages 37-56 | Published online: 22 Dec 2015

Abstract

Issues around authority, empowerment, and collaborative processes in the work of Martha Davis, videographer and public school teacher are explored. Her findings suggest the importance of developing an immersion model for arts education as a way of facilitating children's understanding of the multiple connections between making art and their life experiences.
