Abstract

Perchloric acid adsorbed on silica gel efficiently catalyzed the condensation of o‐phenylenediamines (OPDA) with cyclic and acyclic ketones at ambient temperature to afford 1,5‐benzodiazepines in good yields under solvent‐free conditions.
