Synthesis of (±)‐12‐Methoxyherbertenediol Dimethyl Ether

Abstract

Efficient total synthesis of (±)‐12‐methoxyherbertenediol dimethyl ether and 12‐homoherbertenediol was accomplished starting from vanillin employing a Claisen rearrangement–RCM reaction–based approach.
