Abstract
A new, one-pot multicomponent reaction of two molecules of aromatic aldehydes with 2,7-naphthalenediol and ammonium hydrogen phosphate is described as an efficient and direct procedure for the preparation of novel 1,3-diphenyl-2-azaphenalene derivatives in a mixture of EtOH-H2O (3:1) under reflux conditions.
