Abstract

A series of quinazolinone derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of 2-aminobenzamides and triethyl orthoformate or triphosgene in ionic liquid of [BMIm]BF4 at 80 °C catalyzed by iodine in good yields. Compared to other methods, this new procedure has the advantages of mild reaction conditions, good yields, operational simplicity, and environmentally friendly procedure.
