ABSTRACT

A series of novel dihydroquinoline derivatives were synthesized using malononitrile, 2-aminobenzoic acid, and benzaldehydes in the presence of a catalytic amount of acetic acid, without the use of any additional cocatalyst, under solvent-free conditions. The reaction is characterized by high efficiency, easy workup, simple purification of the products, and availability of catalyst.
