Convenient one-step synthesis of quinoline-3,4-dicarboxylate derivatives

Abstract

Herein a practical and convenient procedure for the one-step synthesis of quinoline-3,4-dicarboxylate derivatives from isatins and β-keto esters in alcohols by sulfuric acid-catalyzed was described. This novel protocol offers the advantages of high conversion rates, short reaction times, and easy handling.
