Abstract

Research on heterocyclic molecules is an important and fundamental challenge for synthetic chemists, because these compounds play an important role in the production of new drugs, pharmaceutical molecules and natural products. A green and economical catalyst should have certain characteristics such as low preparation cost, high activity, excellent selectivity, high stability, simple separation and good recyclability. In recent times, ferrite nanoparticles (MFe2O4 NPs; M = Cu, Co, Ni, Zn, Mn, etc.) have attracted the attention of many chemists or researchers due to unique properties such as high stability, high activity and simple separation. In recent years, the application of ferrite nanoparticles as catalyst was widely studied in the synthesis of heterocycles. In this review, we discussed on ferrite nanoparticles and their catalytic activity in synthesis of heterocycles.
