Abstract
Lead tetra-scetate oxidation of 6-aminomethylcyelohepta-1,3-diene 1 in benzene in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate gave the bridged aziridine 8 in good yield, the structural asignment of 8 being confirmed by its ready cleavage with acetic anhydride to the cleavage compound 11.
