Exchange of Sulphonamide Group in a Halogen

Abstract

It is well known, that the addition of a halogen to the alkaline solution of an aryl sulphonamide yields the corresponding salt of N-halosulphonamide and then N,N-dihaloderivative. Temperatures of 50–60° are usually used.
