Abstract

The prostaglandins A₁ and A₂ are known to be potent antihypertensive agents. Recently we reported³ the synthesis of the 9-oxo-15-hydroxy-8-azaprost-13-enes 1. In this communication we wish to report to our knowledge the first synthesis of an 8-aza-PGA analog which serves as a prototype for the synthesis of 8-aza-PGA₁ and ₂.
