Abstract
For sometime we have been interested in the extension of the concept of solid phase synthesis1 to the elaboration of alkaloids. In particular we have concentrated2 on thephenolic coupling of polymer-supported substrates3. In the course of this work we have encountered many experimental difficulties, notthe least amongst them being the ‘deanchoring’ ofsensitive alkaloidal-like compounds from the polymer.
