Abstract

2-Benzyl-3-(methylsulfoximino)propionic acid has been prepared from 2-benzyl-3-(methylthio)propionamide by cyclization to a isothiazolinone hydrochloride with N-chlorosuccinimide, followed by peracid oxidation and acidic hydrolysis.
