Abstract

Me₃SiC[tbnd]CCH₂Cl and Me₃SiC[tbnd]CCH₂Br are obtained in high yields by treating propargyl chloride and bromide, respectively, with n-butyllithium and lithium diisopropylamide and subsequently adding chlorotrimethylsilane in the presence of hexamethylphosphoric triamide (HMPT). An effective method for the purification of HMPT is described.
