Abstract
The reaction of 4-hydroxyquinolin-2-ones 1a-h an 2-amino thiophenol 2 in dioxane in the presence of p-toluene sulfonic acid furnished 5H-quinolin [3,4-b] [1,4] benzothiazin-6(12H)-ones 4a-h, involving dehydration and oxidative cyclisation.
