Abstract
The synthesis of a new sulfur analog of PMEA (9-(2-phosphonyl-methoxyethyl)-adenine) is described. This PMEA analog was oxidized with sodium metaperiodate. The compounds prepared were tested against HIV reverse transcriptase in vitro and appeared to be inactive.
