Abstract

The one-step syntheses of two fully aromatic planar bis-terdentate bridging ligands are described.

Notes

Even in the shortest back-to-back bis-terpyridine 2,3,5,6-(2′-pyridyl)-pyrazine, steric repulsions between the 3′ hydrogen atoms of the pyridine rings prevent full planarity of the ligand.
