Preparation and characterization of sandwich structure composite with great flexibility and thermal insulation properties

Abstract

The sandwich structure composite was prepared by the specific procedure, as stated below: first, Hollow glass microspheres (HGMs)/thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) composite was prepared by mixing HGMs and TPU solvent and curing for 1 h; subsequently, polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/SiO2 membrane was spun onto the surface composite by electrospinning; And besides, the Ag mirror was prepared by the magnetron sputtering system. It was confirmed that the thin composite acquired superior thermal insulation and mechanical properties. Furthermore, the infrared stealth function of this thermal insulation was also studied systematically. Significantly, the facile-produce has a potential to be applied as thermal insulation and infrared stealth materials in industrial application.
