Abstract

All increase in the interval between acidification and drying allows time for the redistribution of acid in wool. The addition of non-ionic surfactants to the acid bath assists in acid redistribution by promoting wetting of the fibre surface. The rate of drying of acidified wool has an effect on acid distribution, whereas the effect of the temperature of drying is small.
