Abstract
Relative light-scattering coefficients for a range of textile fibres, obtained from reflectance measurements on chopped-fibre–soil mixtures, are reported. The results show the expected effects of specific surface area, delustrant content, and cross-sectional shape, though the effect of varying the last two parameters is somewhat larger than that noted in earlier measurements on fabrics.
