Abstract
Laboratory experiments on samples of carbonized wool indicate that rapid neutralizing is possible by using weak and practically odourless ammonia solutions, particularly when the wetting properties of the solutions are improved by the addition of a surfactant. It is concluded that a flat-bed neutralizer employing these solutions is likely to be a practical proposition.
