Abstract
A further finite-element analysis of Carnaby and Grosberg's yarn model is presented. This analysis is based on the direct equilibration of internal stresses and is less formal than the energy-based analysis presented in Part I. Solutions are obtained for both types of analysis by using only a fraction of the computing effort required by the solution method presented by Carnaby and Grosberg.
