2—THE EFFECT OF DRYING FOR A YIELD TEST ON THE COLOUR OF WOOL

Abstract

Wool samples from a yield test on greasy wool are liable to be slightly discoloured by the specified drying procedure at 105°C. The downward bias in the measured colour values is both variable and, usually, unknown. Such samples are therefore unsuitable for colour-measurement purposes unless an unknown and variable bias can be tolerated.
