Abstract

The result of subjective finger-pressure assessments of fabric softness are compared with objective measurements of compression. Good correlation between them is reported for a set of non-woven and a set of woven fabrics. Relations between the touch, compressibility, mass, thickness, density, and specific volume of these fabrics are also reported.
