Abstract
By applying appropriate assumptions to a general model of wrap-spun yarns, it is possible to obtain a much-simplified relation between tensile behaviour and structural parameters. This simplified model is used to predict the effect of binder type and twist on yarn strength and is shown to be in reasonable agreement with experimental data.
