Volume 55, Issue 4

ORCID Icon

We welcome all our readers to the next issue in Volume 55, packed with papers representing a wide variety of forensic disciplines, including fingerprinting, odontology, anthropology, pathology, biology, chemistry and digital evidence (amongst others!). Considering the latter diversity, it is timely to again thank our hard-working and broad network of global reviewers who take the time to offer their expertise to assist in working towards facilitating the publication of quality articles.

At the time of writing this editorial I do not yet have an update on our latest (2022) Journal Impact Factor (JIF). That data will likely be released at the end of June and I will report accordingly in my next editorial. CiteScore data for 2022 has, however, been released. The Australian Journal of Forensic Sciences (TAJF) has received a score of 2.9 for 2022, an increase on the 2021 score (2.5), and is included in one category: ranked #88/193 (Q2) in Pathology and Forensic Medicine. You can see AJFS’s CiteScore page on Scopus’s website here: https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/27719 Thanks for going out to our portfolio manager from Taylor and Francis (T&F), Janelle Heald, for providing an update.

The combined IAFS/ANZFSS meeting will soon be upon us; 20–24 November 2023. The organizing committee has worked hard to assemble an extremely high quality programme of presenters, workshops and other activities. Those who made submissions to attend should now have all been informed of the outcome and the tentative schedule of activities has been released. I am pleased that TAJF and T&F will be supporting the publication of abstracts as part of an online supplement to be published in early 2024. Specific details and instructions for submission of abstracts will be disseminated to those presenting at IAFS/ANZFSS in the near future.
