Treatment of a herd with a breeding problem by attempting to express corpora lutea

Abstract

Extract

When the causes of infertility in herds cannot be found, treatment is sometimes attempted by expressing the corpora lutea of the repeatedly returning cows. It is difficult to assess the value of this treatment, for, in seasonal mating, the treatment is not given until two or three months after the problems have developed. At this time, many of the herd breeding problems are resolving spontaneously.
