Overseas, McIntosh et al. (Citation1954), Millar (Citation1955), and Kendrick et al. (Citation1956) have recorded isolating viruses which, when introduced into the bovine vagina, produced vaginitis. In addition, Millar showed that his virus caused oedema of the uterus and infertility. In New Zealand, McClure (Citation1956) described a type of infertility in which the development of purulent cervico-vaginal mucus was a feature. This note records the isolation of a virus from herds with this type of breeding problem.
