Abstract

Organic arsenical preparations are commonly used in veterinary medicine as general stimulants and for their anti-parasitic properties. These preparations, in which the arsenic may be combined in the trivalent or pentavalent form, are sold by the manufacturers under a variety of trade names. Although care is necessary in administering these drugs because toxic reactions and death may follow injection, few cases of fatalities in animals or birds are reported in the literature.
