This puppy, when about eight weeks old, was transported by rail and sea from Reparoa, in the centre of the North Island, to Edendale, in Southland. It was conveved in a wooden crate in which it was unable to stand and was three days in transit. The breeder of the puppy was emphatic that it was quite normal when it left his premises, but, on arrival at its destination, it showed a crouching attitude of the hindquarters which the owner, at that time, attributed to its close confinement during transit. Otherwise, the puppy was quite bright and ate, drank, defecated, and urinated normally.
