Abstract

Extract

The dam was an eightcen-month-old Ayrshire cross Jersey heifer which had been inadvertently mated with an Aberdeen Angus bull. The calves, which were born dead, consisted of three heifers and two bulls, and weighed 29 lb, 23 lb, 19 lb, 27 lb, and 24 lb respectively, and appeared to be of about 8 months' gestation. Assistance at calving was given by the writer, mainly because of uterine inertia.
