Thiabendazole as an anthelmintic for horses

Pages 18-19 | Published online: 23 Feb 2011

Abstract

Extract

Although phenothiazine and piperazine are widely used as anthelmintics for horses and both remove a high proportion of the small strongyles, Trichonema spp., neither is efficient in removing Strongylus vulgaris and S. edentatus, which are the most harmful, of the horse-infesting nematodes (Poynter, Citation1954, Citation1955).
