Osteogenesis imperfecta and bone resorption: Two unusual skeletal abnormalities in young lambs

On a farm in the Hastings area in 1961, approximately 10 per cent of lambs from the first 200 ewes to lamb were born dead, at full term. All the ewes were bred on the property, were not studs, and were mainly full-mouthed. There had been no perinatal mortality problem in previous years. The soil type was Crownthorpe silty loam, and no topdressing had been carried out in the past 12 years.
