The occurrence of selenium-responsive myopathies in sheep, cattle, pigs, horses, and poultry in New Zealand has been reviewed by Hartley and Grant (Citation1961). The present paper records a case of severe acute polymyopathy in a sheep dog and congenital myopathy in two litters of sheep dog pups, which resembled white muscle disease of hoggets and congenital white muscle disease of lambs.
